Virtual Promise 2006: is all fair in small, medium and large e-fundraising?

It’s a common and understandable belief that the large charities fare best from fundraising on the Internet. This second analysis of Virtual Promise 2006 by Sarah Hughes takes a look at whether that holds true.

In her second analysis for UK Fundraising of the latest Virtual Promise report benchmarking charities’ use of the Internet, Sarah Hughes looks at how far ahead of smaller charities the larger charities are in terms of online fundraising.

She reveals that it’s not just a case of having a bigger budget or more staff than smaller organisations. Sometimes it can simply because the bigger charities are more likely to solicit and accept donations online, and they are more likely to offer a range of ways to give to and support the charity online.
