Fundraising code consultation nears finish line
The consultation for a statement of ‘General Principles for Fundraising’ in Ireland will be completed next month. The work is being led by the Irish Charities Tax Reform Group and will be presented as part of the final report to the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs at the end of the year.
The second phase of consultation on the Draft Proposals for developing Codes of Fundraising Practice concluded at the end of May 2007. The Consultation found the widespread view that the development of Codes of Practice should be led by the charities sector, with ICTR handling the process.
Details of the first consultation phase which ended in May and the process for further input can be found on www.ictr.ie/consultation
