International bank ABN AMRO has chosen Whizz-Kidz as its charity of the year 2007/2008 and aims to raise £250,000 to provide mobility equipment for children and young people in London.

The partnership launch at ABN AMRO’s head office included a team of ‘Whizz kids’, young beneficiaries of the charity, taking on ABN AMRO employees in a wheelchair obstacle course to demonstrate just how important their customised wheelchairs are in helping them to be more independent.

The first fundraising event involved senior figures at the bank participating in a ‘Boss in the Box’ challenge and raising £66,000!

Robert Lindo, ABN AMRO’s UK Country Executive commented: “We chose Whizz-Kidz because we were looking for a charity that would not only appeal to staff, but also create volunteering opportunities within the organisation for our employees.”
