Research Autism to guarantee 'crime-free' donated mobile phone fundraising

Howard Lake | 30 July 2007 | News

Research Autism have linked up with phone recycling firm Recipero, who have launched a new anti-theft system to avoid benefiting from the proceeds of crime.

Recipero’s CellRecycle campaign collects and recycles old and unwanted mobile phone handsets.

CellRecycle claims to be unique as it guarantees each handset donated is checked against the national database of 8 million stolen mobile phones before it is recycled. Those found to be stolen are passed to the police for further forensic examination.
