Cancer charity hopes to score with T-shirt sales

Howard Lake | 5 June 2007 | News

Action Breast Cancer, part of the Irish Cancer Society, is enlisting the support of the corporate sector as it aims to increase sales of its fashion T-shirt. Over the last two years Action Breast Cancer has raised ‚€450,000 from the sale of its T-shirts through the Brown Thomas clothes retail chain.

This year the charity is asking ‘fashion ambassadors’ in the corporate sector to sell the T-shirts, which have a distinctive blue bullseye, in their workplace. The ambassadors will be invited to meet supermodel Erin O’Connor at the Brown Thomas launch on Thursday.

The money raised will go towards Action Breast Cancer’s general work and Europa Donna which campaigns for the development of services for younger women with breast cancer. Representatives of Europa Donna will visit participating companies to give short health promotion talks on breast cancer.
