The 32nd New York dinner gala of the American Ireland Fund has raised over ‚€4 million for charitable causes in Ireland. The two featured causes at the ball were integrated education in Northern Ireland and Barretstown which supports seriously ill children.

As well as those who attended the ball, it was supported by major contributions, from $100,000 for Founders down to Supporters who contributed $10,000. There were four Founders, three Platinum packages ($75,000) and nine Patrons ($50,000).

One of the key sponsors of the event was AIG whose support was directed at Barretstown. The ball, which is the biggest of the American Ireland Funds events, was attended by Irish President Mary McAleese and film star Paul Newman.
