Staff from recruitment consultancy Pure Recruitment Group last week volunteered for a day with the company’s charity of the year, Vitalise. Four staff spent the day at one of the national disability charity’s centre at Netley Waterside House in Southampton which provides short breaks for disabled people and carers.

The volunteers helped in the Centre’s gardens, assisted staff with serving the guests’ lunch and took them on an excursion to a local country park. One of the Pure volunteers, James Limburn, even gave a lunchtime bagpipe recital for the enjoyment of the guests.

Vitalise was chosen as Charity of the Year by Pure in August 2006. The charity will benefit from Pure’s fundraising efforts in support of its work providing essential respite breaks for disabled people and carers. Pure hopes to raise in excess of £20,000 from the year’s activities.

Pure’s association with Vitalise begin with its sponsorship of the charity’s Legends of Sport Celebrity Dinner last year, helping Vitalise raise over £45,000.

Chris Nelson, co-founder and Managing Director of Pure, said: “We are very keen to fundraise for Vitalise, but we wanted to show our support in other ways too. The opportunity for some of us to spend a day volunteering at Netley Waterside House was a fantastic idea.”
