The ImpACT (Improving Accountability, Clarity and Transparency) Coalition, a group of more than 80 top charities and trade bodies working to increase public trust and confidence in charities, has this week unveiled a new logo for use by Coalition participants.

The logo was unveiled during a seminar held on Tuesday 8th May, in which 40 members of the ImpACT Coalition heard presentations on The Institute of Fundraising Code of Fundraising Practice:

Transparency and Accountability’, from Megan Pacey, Institute of Fundraising, A Whole Organisational Approach to Transparency and Accountability, from Louise Jagger and colleagues, Scope, and Supporter Service = Supporter Value. How to Win by Delivering to Supporters from Gary Hancock, Pell & Bales and Paul Jackson-Clark, Marie Curie. The movement’s logo will be on all future ImpACT Coalition communications and available for members to use.

Launching the new logo, Alan Gosschalk, Chair of the ImpACT Coalition says: “I am really proud to announce this new, strong visual identity for the ImpACT Coalition. Over the next few months, we will establish a web presence for the Coalition, encouraging members actively to engage with our key messages and principles.”

Speaking of the meeting, Richard Marsh, Director, ImpACT Coalition said: “It has been heartening to see so many members of the ImpACT Coalition joining together to share experiences and best practice at Tuesday’s seminar. We are looking to roll out events for member charities on a regular basis, and really welcome the input of individual members such as Scope, Pell & Bales and Marie Curie.”

Simon Gray, Executive Director of East Anglian Air Ambulance comments: “As a regional charity that has its roots firmly in the community it is essential that our supporters understand how we operate, how our finances work and appreciate the complexities of our charity. The ImpACT Coalition has given us excellent help, support and ./guidance with this and open forum discussions with sister charities have helped us to identify simple, understandable FAQs that are being cascaded to all staff, volunteers and supporters.”

Louise Jagger, Director of Fundraising at Scope says: “In order to maximise their fundraising potential and sustainability, all charities, whether large or small, national or regional, need to provide high quality information about the impact of their work and communicate this consistently to their supporters and the wider public.

“Being a member of the ImpACT Coalition has made a significant difference to Scope’s work in this area and enabled us to build on our successes to date. The mix of charities in the Coalition has provided us
all with a valuable opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and compare our successes and challenges. In addition, we are all working to the same framework of what we do and how we communicate this.

“This is something that Scope has adopted across the whole of our organisation, not just fundraising.

“The ImpACT Coalition is an excellent example of collaboration between a diverse range of charities and is playing a significant role in increasing transparency and accountability within the voluntary sector.”
