PFRA Development Officer appointed for Scotland and Northern Ireland

Guy Findley has been appointed to the new role of Development Officer at the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) with the task of providing support for PFRA members and local authorities in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

His role will be to co-ordinate face-to-face collections, work with local authorities, and ensure that regulation is implemented “robustly”. He will also work to support PFRA members in developing understanding of face-to-face fundraising and its regulation amongst politicians and the general public, and help ensure that PFRA practice and policy is brought into line with new Scottish charity legislation.

Findley has nearly 10 years of fundraising experience, beginning as a part-time fundraiser at tele-fundraising company Capital Charity Callers before working as operations manager for Premier Contact, part of the Fundraising Initiatives Group.

Mick Aldridge, Chief Executive of the PFRA, said: “As new legislation, distinct from English and Welsh charity law develops in Scotland and Northern Ireland it is appropriate for the PFRA to bring on board dedicated support for fundraisers and local authorities in these regions.

“Guy’s… appointment will allow the PFRA to further develop its relationship with local and central government and the media in Scotland and Northern Ireland and provide more comprehensive support to charities and fundraising organisations hoping to recruit donors in the area.”
