Paralympic athlete Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE has become Vice President of Canine Partners, the charity that provides trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities.

Grey-Thompson has broken 30 world records in her 20-year career and this month announced her retirement, planning to dedicate more time to other causes as well as her family.

She said: “I have come into contact with Canine Partners many times and it is a wonderful charity. The difference these dogs make to the lives of people with disabilities is incredible. I hope my involvement can help give more people a chance to have a Canine Partner and regain some of their independence.”
