St Mark's Hospital Foundation launches appeal

Howard Lake | 12 April 2007 | News

St Mark’s Hospital Foundation is launching a major national appeal to raise £500,000, encouraging supporters to buy a tile in an online mosaic. The North West London hospital is one of the world’s only specialist hospitals for colorectal disease.

The hospital is inviting supporters to buy tiles in an online mosaic of the St Mark’s lion, a copy of the mosaic which appears on the walls of the hospital.

Each tile in the St Mark’s Mosaic Appeal is on offer for £100 and the donor’s name will be featured on the appeal website and on a special mobile display. Tiles can also be dedicated to a loved one.

The hospital has also designated certain tiles for premium and corporate sponsors.

Tiles will be available for sale at the launch on 24 April, and the hospital will also be conducting online auctions of selected tiles.

The costs of the Mosaic appeal are being covered by probiotic drink producer Yakult, and the appeal is being supported by Channel 5 presenter Matthew Wright.
