New guidance on campaigning and political activities from Charity Commission

Howard Lake | 3 April 2007 | News

The Charity Commission has responded to concerns from charities it says may be ‘unnecessarily cautious’ when considering campaigning activies and has published answers to questions on its website.

The Q&A advises charities on how they can follow the example of successful campaigns like Make Poverty History and the RSPCA’s controversial campaign on fox-hunting and use their unique position in society to fight for change.

This advice is being published along with election ./guidance, setting out the do’s and don’ts for charities in the run-up to local and Welsh Assembly elections in May.
