BUPA call centre staff to volunteer to handle Comic Relief calls

Howard Lake | 9 March 2007 | News

Call centre staff at BUPA Health Insurance in Manchester and Staines are once again volunteering to help handle telephone donations for Comic Relief next week.

Over one million people are expected to call the Comic Relief Donation line on 16 March. To help cope with demand during the five and a half hours during which the lines stay open, BUPA have lined up 400 volunteers to staff around 160 lines to take their donations.

On the last Red Nose Day in 2005 the two BUPA Health Insurance call centres handled 7,600 calls and took over £200,000 in donations.

Indeed, employees from all areas of BUPA will be donning Red Noses and raising money for Comic Relief: every pound collected will be matched by BUPA’s Community Connections.
