Leicester City Football Club has pledged to donate £1 to the Mellow Yellow Friday appeal for every yellow LCFC shirt sold. Two first team players, Darren Kenton and Nils-Eric Johansson, launched the initiative today by visiting children in the Leicester Royal Infirmary Intensive Care Unit.

Lisa Farmer, head of fundraising, said: “Mellow Yellow Friday is a fun event to help raise £150,000 for our Equipment Appeal. We want to buy four pieces of state-of-the-art medical equipment, including a Servo Respiratory Ventilator for the Children’s Intensive Care Unit.”

A Leicester City Football Club spokesperson said: “The Leicester hospitals equipment appeal is a very worthwhile charity and one which we are happy to support. It’s great that people can have fun taking part in Mellow Yellow Friday whilst raising money that will benefit patients like the children in the LRI Intensive Care Unit.”
