Northern Ireland based Gordons Chemists are celebrating raising £106,000 for the Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF). The money was raised through the companies branches for the charity’s Pink Link initiative.

Over the past three years Gordons Chemists staff and customers have organised a range of Pink Link fundraising activities during October, breast cancer awareness month, to raise funds to help support local women with the disease.

Last year’s Pink Link raised £41,000 which will help develop UCF’s bra and swimwear fitting service.

At the announcement Joyce Savage, Head of Appeals and Marketing, UCF said, This is a tremendous fundraising achievement. Congratulations to Gordons Chemists staff and customers for their continued enthusiasm and commitment to Pink Link. The £41,000 raised from last year’s Pink Link will be invested in UCF’s Fitting Service which is available at UCF’s Belfast office, Altnagelvin Hospital and Dove House in L’Derry.

Neil Gordon, co-founder of Gordons Chemist, the province’s largest independent Pharmacy chain said, This is an amazing milestone for us to have reached and our customers and staff have really taken this campaign to their hearts.
