Charitable applications for Web 2.0

Howard Lake | 16 February 2007 | Blogs

After a slow start, there is now a wide range of applications of Web 2.0 technology to the charity sector. As well as ChipIn, Fundable, Kiva and others already covered on UK Fundraising, there are many more.
Everything 2.0 makes a stab at listing some of them in its charities and good causes categories.
While some of those websites listed stretch the definition of “good causes” – “givebobadollar” benefits only “Bob” for example, this site still offers a whirlwind trip through the emerging services that are possible already, and should spark some creative thoughts amongst those of us considering how best to apply these technologies to fundraising and the charity sector.
