Glaziers Hall seeks local charity to support

The London SE1 community website reports that Glaziers Hall at London Bridge is hoping to find an organisation that can accept its left-over banqueting food, and a local organisation that it can form a close relationship with.

Glaziers Hall in Montague Close is the home of three Livery Companies and often holds large banquets for hundreds of people. It is keen to find a good use for the food that it ends up having to dispose of.

While it has been able to give away sandwiches because they were in sealed packets, they have found it impossible to give away hot food such as chicken and meat dishes, according to managing director Janice Weiner. Organisations that can help Glaziers Hall should contact them.
At the same time Ms Weiner told London SE1 that the Hall was looking to adopt a local charity for 2007. “We would like to increase our role in the local community and hope that by forming a close relationship with just one charity we can really help to make a difference,” said Ms Weiner.
