Direct marketing agency Whitewater is in negotiations to join forces with an existing direct marketing services group’.

A statement on the company’s website by managing director Steve Andrews says: I am aware that there are rumours in our sector that Whitewater is up for sale. Such gossip can be unsettling for a business so I’d like to use this¦to set the record straight.

It is true that we are in the advanced stages of negotiating to join an existing direct marketing services group.

Andrews said the proposed partnership has not yet been ratified and that he is unable, for legal reasons, to reveal the name of the other agency.

He stressed that Whitewater would continue to operate as an independent entity in its own office with the same staff team. He said the move would open more exciting possibilities for Whitewater within the sector.

In the past few months the company has launched a Whitewater blog, made several new appointments and strengthened its creative team. Emphasising the company’s commitment to customer service, Andrews said the new move will add strengths and skills which will ‘substantially improve’ the company’s customer offering.

Andrews and his wife Claire Page have run Whitewater for 10 years, and acquired control of the company through a management buy-out in 2000. They had agreed in 2006 that Page would exit the business to concentrate on raising their family.
