Tonight's Big Brother phone vote income to go to charity

Howard Lake | 19 January 2007 | News

Following the racism row about the current series of Celebrity Big Brother, broadcaster Channel 4 will donate the income from tonight’s phone vote to charity. The charities which will receive this £2 million or so will, ironically, be nominated by the contestants when the show is over.

Channel 4 has remained defiant about broadcasting the show: Chief Executive Andy Duncan said he was “not ashamed of what was broadcast, quite the opposite”.
