Howard Lake | 15 January 2007 | News

The Governance Hub has published new ./guidance on the liabiities surrounding trusteeship.

The guide – ‘Reducing the Risks: A guide to Trustee Liabilities’ – aims to provide ‘umambiguous information’ and covers issues such as personal liability, what to do when you are worried about liabilities, where liabilities come from and what they are, understanding trustee liabilities and how to assess and minimise both governance and operational liabilities.

Head of the Governance Hub Jolanta Lasota said: The perceived fear of personal liabilities deters some peole from becoming trustees and is an issue that concerns existing trustees. This ./guidance seeks to dispel many of the misconceptions associated with the risks of trusteeship and to enable people to govern with confidence. We hope that as a result of this new guide people feel more aware of and comfortable with the limited risks associated with trusteeship.”
