Catalogue retailer Argos has raised £100,000 in three weeks for Help the Hospices through sales of packets of “reindeer food”.

The packets of oats and glitter have sold well nationwide. Help the Hospices Corporate Fundraiser, Anne Seymour, said: “The reindeer food initiative has been a real Christmas cracker raising £100,000 for the hospice movement in just seven weeks.”

The packets of ‘food’ were on sale in all Argos’ 625 UK stores, with the Chesterfield store in Derbyshire selling the most packets (1,947).
