PGA joins forces with the BHF

Howard Lake | 12 December 2006 | News

The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) is the driving force behind a new fundraising partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
The initiative which positions the PGA at ‘the heart of golf’, aims to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, raise awareness amongst golfers of heart disease and will also raise vital funds for BHF over the next 12 months.
The partnership is to tee off at the PGA’s fundraising annual luncheon this week at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
Sandy Jones, chief executive of the PGA said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with the BHF. The partnership will enable us to communicate to golfers via our network of PGA professionals at golf clubs about the threat and impact of heart conditions, as well as raising much-needed funds for the BHF; therefore a partnership with the nation’s heart charity was a natural choice.”
Douglas Rouse, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the BHF commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the PGA and are looking forward to what promises to be an incredibly exciting and successful partnership.”
