An attempt to create the world’s largest collaborative artwork online with contributions from one million people has so far raised $10,305 for its five beneficiary charities in its first 100 days.

The artwork-in-progress was launched on 15 July 2006 with the aim of charging contributors £3.50 to be part of the record-breaking attempt. The total fundraising target, to be split between ActionAid, Oxfam, Save the Children, World Cancer Research Fund, and WWF, is £3.5 million.

Contributors are invited to create a doodle online which will form part of the artwork.

The final artwork, which will measure 80m by 31m, will be unveiled at “a major London landmark” in July 2007.

Contributors can choose which charity will benefit from their donation.

As of today, the site has attracted 7,277 members and raised $10,305, but has 250 days to run.
