CharitiesPower.co.uk seeks charities to sign up

A new website that allows visitors to compare and switch gas and/or electricity for free will give £5 to charity for each completed switch.

CharitiesPower.co.uk, an Energywatch approved service launched by UK Power is looking for charities to sign up to its service. The service is free both for charities and consumers. Consumers visit the site to compare the cost of gas from their present supplier and a list of all licensed suppliers.

The organisation is able to make donations to charity from the small commission it receives from suppliers for each successful switch.

Website manager Sam Hamilton said that he had approached a number of national and local charities, but was still looking for more to sign up to the website. CharitiesPower.co.uk can provide buttons for use on charities websites, and any information charities might need to publicise the service.
