New Web Manager at the Alzheimer's Society
Action Medical Research Web Editor Said Dajani is to join the Alzheimer’s Society as their new Web Manager.
Said leaves the Action Research website in a strong position. Andrew Proctor, Director of Communications at Action Medical Research said: “We are very proud of www.action.org.uk and the long term commitment we have put into development is starting to generate tangible results. Online sponsorship income is up 150% on last year, website visitors up 110%, and we are constantly adding new features, the latest being online event registration.
In December we launched our first html e-newsletter and the Touching Tiny Lives campaign got a massive boost from the remarkable press coverage of Martin Holdcroft’s blog and our online petition at www.standupfortinylives.org.

Said has been a big part of this success and we wish him well in his new post. We are currently recruiting for his successor so if you are resourceful and ambitious feel free to apply.”
Dajani, who was Client Services Manager of the media-monitoring agency EDS Media before joining Action Medical Research said: “It is a good time to be a charity web manager. There is a growing professionalism in the way non-profits are using the Internet, to raise funds, cut costs and deliver their message.
“A good charity website is all about team work and at Action Medical Research I was lucky enough to work with some very talented people. Although I will miss the friends I have made I am looking forward to the challenge ahead. Dementia currently affects one person in 20 over the age of 65 and one person in five over the age of 80. It is a particularly cruel and horrible diagnosis that affects carers as well those diagnosed and the numbers are increasing every year.”
Linda Seward Head of Marketing & Publishing at the Alzheimer’s Society welcomed the news of Dajani’s appointment saying: “It’s an exciting time at the Alzheimer’s Society having grown in the last quarter century from a handful of volunteer-run branches to a national organisation employing over 1400 people.
