Coronation Street star fronts Alzheimer's Society direct mail appeal

Johnny Briggs (who plays Mike Baldwin in the ITV soap Coronation Street) has signed up to front the Alzheimer’s Society’s new fundraising appeal to raise funds for the charity’s work.

The direct mail campaign, which refers to a Coronation Street story line concerning the disease and to real life examples of how people and families are affected, will begin to land on Tuesday 4 April.

The Society hopes that the mailing will take advantage of the popularity of the soap, which has 17 million viewers, to increase its donor base and public understanding of the disease.
