First Green Awards launched to promote CSR and "reform advertising"

Howard Lake | 6 February 2006 | News

London’s Guildhall will host the Green Awards 2006, an event created to recognise excellent creative work that communicates the importance of CSR, sustainable development, and ethical best practice on November 29th 2006.

The Green Awards, conceived by Satellite, have the following objectives:
– To make brands and organisations aware of the importance of including CSR within the creative process especially when briefing agencies.
– To create a forum where the media can help solve some of the environmental issues they themselves have highlighted in the last 18 months. To do this in a creative way through promoting greener lifestyle options as opposed to wasteful consumption.
– To develop the notion of ‘reform’ advertising i.e. advertising which includes environmental and social considerations during its planning and execution – in addition to the traditional marketing mix.
