O2 staff to donate pennies from their salary via Pennies from Heaven

Howard Lake | 2 December 2005 | News

Staff at mobile telephone service provider O2 will be given the opportunity to join the Pennies from Heaven scheme (PFH) and donate on an ongoing basis the pennies left on their salary each month to benefit the young people’s charity, Weston Spirit.

PFH is now in its fifth year and has many of the UK’s largest organisations contributing to the scheme, such as Barclays, Aviva, Morgan Stanley and the Virgin Group. To date the company has raised over £600,000 for a variety of charities through the simple mechanism of rounding down salaries to the nearest pound and donating the spare pennies (with gift aid) to charity.
