Online donation numbers match telephone donations for DEC earthquake appeal

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) reports that the South Asian earthquake disaster of 2005 was the first occasion on which it received as many online donations as donations by telephone.
Until then the phone has been the dominant channel, with the South Asian tsunami and Niger appeals generating twice as many phone donations as online donations.
