New head of Professional Development at Institute

Amanda Shepard is the new Head of Professional Development at the Institute of Fundraising. She will be responsible for developing the Institute’s training and accreditation programme.

Previously Director of Fundraising & Management at Kingston Smith Consultants and, before that, Assistant Director at The Prince’s Trust, Amanda has 12 years’ experience of fundraising, recruitment, marketing, change management and organisational strategy at director level.

Amanda commented: “Fundraising is a truly modern career – dynamic, flexible and global. There is huge demand for effective fundraisers and I am looking forward to promoting the profession and its opportunities. “

Amanda has worked with the Institute as a member of the Institute’s Professional Development Committee over the past two years.

She replaces David Parker who left the Institute in September 2005 to join the British Greyhound Racing Board. David will continue working with the Institute on a consultancy basis to develop a European fundraising accreditation model.
