Food author and TV presenter Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and CARE International UK have launched a new online game for World Food Day.

Players of “Hungry Hugh’s Farmers’ Market Feast” have to round up escapee hens and evade foxes while trying to fill their shopping basket with the fresh organic produce on their shopping list.

The game is intended to be educational. Hugh said: “In the UK, we’re so lucky with wonderful fresh local foods available. In many countries around the world it’s a different story.

“Every single day over 17,000 children die from hunger and related causes. That’s why I decided to support CARE International’s World Hunger Campaign.

The game has a soft fundraising ask at the end, with a donate button and the promotion of Hugh’s River Cottage’s charity CD ‘ Let it Grow’.
