Tommy’s, the baby charity, is partnering with Rubber Duck and the Big Badge Company to produce a variety of Peppa Pig merchandise from autumn 2005. The aim of the partnership is to raise £200,000 which will fund Tommy’s research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.12

From 23 January 2006, high street retailer Asda will launch the sale of merchandise in-store in the form of pin badges of Peppa pig and three other characters from the BAFTA-nominated five-minute animation series for pre-school children. The series has been broadcast daily on Channel Five’s Milkshake and Nick UK since July 2004.

Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy’s said: “The opportunity to produce Peppa Pig merchandise and the association with such a hugely popular brand will ensure that awareness of Tommy’s is high amongst mums and dads.

“The Peppa Pig partnership will help us engage with many of these potential new supporters and with Asda’s help, the funds raised will enable us to continue our vital research to help save more babies’ lives”.

Rebecca Hill from the Contender Entertainment Group added: “We regard this to be the start of a long relationship with Tommy’s. The charity is an excellent fit for Peppa Pig as we both strive to provide children with the best possible start to life”.
