Salesforce.com, the US software firm which has its European base in Dublin, is funding a programme to help people who are homeless in Dublin return to education and work. The City of Dublin YMCA was one of 21 organisations worldwide to share more than ‚€100,000 from Salesforce.com.

The YMCA addresses the educational, recreational and spiritual needs of those most disadvantaged living in the inner city Dublin area. Through its Vision 2000 Project it is working to provide support, education and accommodation for young people vulnerable to homelessness.

Salesforce.com staff regularly work with the YMCA providing food and a friendly face to young people on Dublin’s streets. The Foundation is also developing a partnership to find creative and cost efficient ways to bring technical resources such as software, hardware, and expertise to this organization including enhancing their website, public relations and outreach.
