Property developers team up for Africa

Howard Lake | 6 May 2008 | News

A group led by some of Ireland’s major property developers has been formed to raise money for clean drinking water projects in Africa. The ‘Big Rig’ charity will operate independently but is part of the Support Africa Foundation.
Big Rig has been set up by Ray Grehan of Glennkerrin Homes, one of Ireland’s biggest house builders. So far they have brought clean drinking water to 4000 people in northern Ethopia and plan to build 100 wells in the region over the next three years.
Other high profile names involved in the charity include Paul McGennis of BC Hanby Wallace, developer Jarlath Sweeney and Mike Gaffney of KPMG.
