London Bombings Fund total reaches £5 million
The London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund, set up in association with the British Red Cross, has raised more than £5 million in the 11 days since it was launched on 8 July 2005.
As well as donations from individuals and businesses the fund has received a £1 million donation from the Government.
Mark Astarita, director of fundraising, said: “It has been fantastic to see people in London and across the world giving their support to this appeal. I am always moved by the way people come together in times of crisis to help those affected.”

The money raised will be used to help the victims of the attacks, their immediate families and partners, and other appropriate projects.
The Red Cross has been supporting the appeal by collecting funds on behalf of the Greater London Authority.
