Maca rebrands as Together

The Mental After Care Association (Maca) has been renamed as Together.

The charity’s new logo includes the strapline ‘Working for Wellbeing’, which is intended to indicate the charity’s move towards working with more service users at local level. Chief Executive Gil Hitchon told Third Sector: “we chose Together because it is a modern, inclusive name that says ‘we are all in this together’, whether as service users, carers, families, friends, staff or working partners.”

It is not the first time the organisation has changed its name. It was originally founded in 1879 as “The After-care Association for Poor and Friendless Female Convalescents on Leaving Asylums for the Insane.”
