Book celebrates 25 years of the London Marathon

Howard Lake | 10 April 2005 | News

A new book by John Bryant celebrates 25 years of the London Marathon, one of the most consistently successful fundraising events in recent times.

John Bryant’s salute to the London Marathon is written from the point of view of a regular participant in the race. His history covers the event from the starting line in Blackheath in 1981 to the latest event. It also covers the history of the marathon itself from Pheidippides to Paula Radcliffe.

It is not of course a fundraising manual, but it does credit the “courage and the craziness of the characters who for 25 years have run the streets of London.”
