Travel insurance affinity deal tailored for Migraine Trust

The Migraine Trust is partnering with insurance specialist Heath Lambert to offer the Trust’s supporters specially tailored travel insurance if they suffer with migraine. The Trust will receive a donation for each policy taken out.

Heath Lambert has negotiated travel insurance that covers migraine and is offering annual and single trip policies with other benefits to members of The Migraine Trust. Deals are also available on household insurance, motor insurance and life cover.

The affinity deal is specifically relevant to the Migraine Trust’s supporters because most travel insurance policies exclude pre-existing medical conditions such as migraine unless cover for the condition can be specifically negotiated and agreed with insurers. As a result, says the Trust, sufferers are often asked to pay inflated prices, large excesses or end up not covered at all regardless of their travel insurance claims history.

The Migraine Trust hopes the scheme will raise at least £10,000 for its work in the first year of the five-year partnership.

Yvonne Lane, Head of Fundraising at The Migraine Trust, said: “Heath Lambert… has previously supported our work through its charitable trust and is now further demonstrating its support in the establishment of this partnership which will benefit many migraine sufferers”.

In 2003 Heath Lambert was named Financial Services Supplier of the Year at the UK Charity Awards organised by Charity Finance. The judges praised the organisation for “providing practical help in a particularly difficult area of management for charities at the moment. The firm has strongly lobbied its own industry on behalf of the voluntary sector, as well as being highly innovative in the services it provides to clients.”
