Awards for All England to raise small grants from £5,000 to £10,000

Awards for All England’s participating Lottery distributors (Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England) have agreed to raise the funding ceiling on the small grant programme from £5,000 to £10,000 from early 2006.
In anticipation of the increase, the distributors have boosted their contributions to the programme for the financial year 1 April 2005 to 31 March 2006 to £56.3 million, an increase of 50% compared with the current year.
Mike Wilkins, Director of Awards for All England, said: “The increase to an upper ceiling of £10,000 is great news for those applying for smaller amounts of Lottery funds. As well as preparing for the integration of the programme into Big Lottery Fund, we are also busy planning and testing the necessary changes to our business processes and IT systems to take account of the higher ceiling whilst ensuring that the programme remains accessible and maintains its rapid turnaround.”

This announcement and timetable apply to England only. Any decision to vary the Awards for All programme and grant amount threshold in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be a decision for participating Lottery distributors and their devolved administrations.
