Funding to Support Refugee Integration in the UK

As part of the launch of the Refugee Integration Strategy, the Home Office has announced that it is seeking applications for projects to be supported through the Challenge Fund and Purposeful Activities Fund in 2005/06.

The Challenge Fund provides financing for projects that address specific social needs among refugee communities around the UK.

The Purposeful Activities Fund has established provisions to enable asylum seekers awaiting decisions on their applications for refugee status to contribute to the community by volunteering and to improve relationships with the local host communities in which they are living.

The final deadline for applications to both funds is Thursday 5 May 2005.
