Red Cross to benefit from online quiz

Skill gaming website Midasplayer.com has launched Quiz Queen, a multiplayer Internet trivia quiz game hosted by celebrity Nancy Dell’Olio in aid of The British Red Cross.

As the host, Ms Dell’Olio introduces the players to the game and takes them through each question step-by-step, congratulating, encouraging and sympathising as they play.

Quiz Queen is open to all and can be played for free or competitively for a 35p stake. Fifty per cent of all proceeds from the game go to The British Red Cross.

Before beginning the game, each player can create their very own avatar or computer generated character which expresses emotions and comic expressions as they compete.

Up to five contestants play each game of Quiz Queen, competing against each other to answer as many questions correctly as quickly as possible. Questions range from celebrity gossip to geography and Victorian literature. After ten questions, the winning player picks up that game’s jackpot.

Nancy Dell’Olio said: “The number of people playing games on the internet is incredible. For me, it is like being a host on a television quiz show with an international audience of millions where everyone can have a go.”

Ms Dell’Olio is a Red Cross Ambassador and set up her own charity “Truce International”. She was introduced to midasplayer.com by co-founder, Toby Rowland at the European Football Championships in 2004. He said: “Nancy is brilliant in her role as host and the game is unlike any other on the Internet. We fully anticipate that Nancy’s Quiz Queen game will become the most popular game on midasplayer.com.”
