DEC says thank you for donations to tsunami earthquake appeal

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has started to say a public thank you for the unprecedented scale of giving to the tsunami earthquake appeal, using TV and press.
The DEC is publishing thank you messages in the press, on its website and on TV. This is the first time that it has acknowledged public gifts to an emergency appeal in this way.
The acknowledgements take the form of press ads saying “thank you, thank you, thank you”, and a button ad on the DEC’s website echoes that message.

Singer Jamelia is also fronting a video thank-you on behalf of the DEC, which is appearing on a range of commercial channels.
