Street fundraisers raise £2,500 in cash collection for DEC tsunami appeal
Thirty six street fundraisers, who usually ask passers by to commit to a regular Direct Debit donation to charity, gave up their time and their clipboards to raise £2,500 for the Tsunami Appeal on 8 January.
The fundraisers, from several Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) member companies, joined forces to encourage passers by in the Islington area of London to donate their small change. All the funds raised on the day will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee Appeal Fund to support victims of the tsunami.
The street fundraisers will now return to their usual work of soliciting regular, tax-effective direct debit donations to help a range of charity causes, including international aid and development.
