New discussion forum for solo or lone fundraisers

UK Fundraising Forum has launched a discussion forum especially for professional fundraisers who work on their own.

Following a recent vote by members of the UK Fundraising Forum, we now have a special forum particularly for the many fundraisers who find themselves solely responsible for fundraising for an organisation.

It can be a lonely and stressful responsibility, so the Forum has been designed to at least put such fundraisers in touch with each other. The Forum as a whole has been designed to spread best practice, and is divided into a range of specialist categories. Members felt that there was a need for one category particularly for solo fundraisers, so we have launched that today.

Messages, as always, will be moderated by UK Fundraising’s Howard Lake. Messages posted on the forum should be specifically related to the challenges of being a solo fundraiser. Questions about techniques and specialisms e.g. direct marketing, technology, and grantseeking should continue to be posted in the relevant categories.

The Forum as whole is designed for professional fundraisers, whether paid or unpaid. While many volunteer fundraisers use it and are welcomed, the Forum is not intended to be used by individuals who are trying to raise funds for charity.
