Migraine Trust selects Ascent for relationship management system

The Migraine Trust has chosen Ascent for Relationship Fundraising from customer relationship management specialists, Ascent Technology, to enhance its communications with members, supporters and service users.

Although a small organisation, the Trust manages a range of activities including fundraising, marketing, media relations, membership, research grants and help lines. With a number of different databases and information systems in use within the organisation, the trustees and staff recognised that the charity required a single system to replace these and unify all data and activities within it.

The Trust chose Ascent because it could demonstrate an understanding of the Trust’s needs together with the ability to deliver a return on investment. It also met the charity’s requirements for “futureproofing” and ease and flexibility of use.

Yvonne Lane, head of fundraising at The Migraine Trust, said: “Ascent demonstrated to us, through specific case studies, product demonstrations and throughout our discussions, that they have a thorough understanding of The Migraine Trust’s needs, and the charitable sector in general. It was striking that Ascent was the only supplier that tackled the section asking them to demonstrate how their software would enable us to achieve the business benefits outlined in the Invitation To Tender.”

The Trust shortlisted three products, but the Ascent system was, it believed, the simplest to use. Yvonne added: “This is an incredibly important area for us. We have many volunteers who come to the office infrequently and it is paramount that the new database is one that they will be able to use, as well as flexible enough for us to set up for each of them individually.”
