Red Cross launches appeal for North Cornwall flood victims

Howard Lake | 23 August 2004 | News

The British Red Cross has launched an emergency appeal to help victims of the floods that affected Boscastle, Crackington Haven and Otterham last week.

The appeal was launched after a request for support from the North Cornwall District Council. So far over £30,000 has been raised.

The Lions club of Exeter West has donated £1,000 and the Lions Clubs International Foundation in the USA has also made a donation. Local fundraising events have already been held: Saltash Handicapped and Disabled Organisation, for example, raised £216 with a coffee morning.
