Getting a regional charity’s Web site promoted can be difficult, but a Leeds charity for sensory impaired people has done so by teaming up with deaf tennis champion Catherine Graham.

Catherine Graham is the British deaf singles and doubles tennis champion and a Leeds Metropolitan student and Carnegie Scholar. She joined The Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People in launching its newly-developed Web site which promotes the services and lifestyle choices available to sensory impaired Leeds residents.

She was the first person to log on to the site at the launch event at the charity’s newly renovated cybercafe at the Leeds Deaf Social Club.

Information on the new site is displayed in a range of formats, such as British Sign Language videos and large text, and it can be used effectively by assistive equipment for visually impaired people.
