Specialist tour operator partners with Plan UK in CRM deal
International development charity Plan UK has joined forces with specialist tour operators The Adventure Company in a cause related marketing partnership to raise funds for its work.
The Adventure Company offers cultural journeys, wildlife, trekking and wilderness trips in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. It has a policy of attempting to limit the negative impacts of tourism by encouraging its clients to act responsibly and by supporting local projects.
The company has committed initially to supporting Plan’s projects in Peru, as this is one of the most popular destinations for their customers. For every client travelling on a trip to Peru, The Adventure Company will donate £5 to Plan’s latrine project and will match clients’ donations to a maximum of £10.

Plan staff are also giving talks on their work to The Adventure Company’s customers visiting Cusco, Peru. Later this year, travellers will have the opportunity to meet communities in Cusco and the Sacred Valley, and see some of Plan’s projects in development.
Ruth Baker, Corporate Marketing Officer for Plan UK commented: “This partnership with The Adventure Company… is a first for us.”
Plan has over 110,000 sponsors in the UK and over a million sponsored children worldwide.
