Dr. Ian Banks, MHF President and author of the Haynes’ cancer manual said: “The Haynes’ cancer manual is a very good example of an innovative way of working effectively with men. Men are used to using information presented in this format; the ‘body as machine’ metaphor resonates with the way many men think about health issues; and, of course, the concept introduces an element of humour – this helps men access health information and advice. We believe the manual is a small step in the right direction and we look forward to working with the Department of Health and others to take the action necessary reduce men’s risk of developing cancer.”
