50 Connect launches online volunteer directory for those over 45

Howard Lake | 25 February 2004 | News

50 Connect, the Web site for people over 45, is trying to organise a band of older volunteers throughout the UK who can be called on by communities and local charities to help complete various project works.

Commenting on the new initiative, Lynda Hamilton, Operations Director at 50 Connect said: “There are thousands of people out there with time on their hands who really want to get involved, but many do not know where to start. Our aim is to put people who want to volunteer in touch with organisations and groups in need of volunteers.

“Eventually, we hope to have an extensive database of volunteers, available at any time to help out with local community work.”
